Description

Salvia apiana. 3.7L coir pot.

This evergreen, medium-sized perennial shrub is native to Mexico and the South West of the USA and is the most aromatic of all the sages. It is a very important plant to the native American tribes where it was (and still is) used for ceremonial and medical purposes and as a food plant.

Teas are made from the leaves / roots and the seeds are used to make flour. The leaves and stems are used for purification rituals.

The plant enjoys full sun conditions and displays beautiful white flowers in summer.

The plant is said to assist in treating sinus infections, menstrual pain and indigestion. It is also used as a non-lathering shampoo to soften hair. Due to its strong antiseptic properties, it has been used to treat infections, tinea, abrasions and sore throats.
