This perennial herb is native to the western – central states of the USA, and traditionally used by the native Americans to help treat stomach ache, menstrual cramps, poor appetite and gall stone pains.
The leaves and flowers can be dried and used in tea.
The leaves can be used whilst washing to assist rashes, itchiness, eczema, aching feet, sores and swellings. They can be used as a deodorant and have anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties.
This often hard to find plant likes hot, dry conditions, and can easily handle depleted soils.
Full sun to part shade conditions preferred.
