I’m delighted to be growing the exciting new range of Sabrina Hahn plants, called Sabrina’s Selection.

We’ll be offering an ever-changing selection of classic, open-pollenated varieties, grown from seed (some sourced from parent plants in Sabrina’s own garden). We’ll also be offering beautiful flowering plants that’ll help attract beneficial insects into your garden. Plus we’ll offer the occasional harder to find varieties.

All the plants are grown in natural, biodegradable coir pots, without the use of pesticides or herbicides. We don’t use plastic pots or plastic plant tags (our tags are made from paper). We’re helping to set the standard in growing plants in a sustainable, environmentally-conscious manner with minimal waste.

The coir pots are made from a natural waste product from the coconut industry. Not only is it great that a waste product can be repurposed and made into something practical, but each coir pot is also eliminating the use of a plastic pot. The use of plastic in the growing and sale of plants is a big problem that needs to be addressed. That’s why I’m really proud to be working with Hort With Heart and helping their vision to make changes for the better.

The coir pots can be planted straight into the ground, minimising root disturbance. Once the pot is planted in the ground, the roots will penetrate through the coir pot and into the soil. The coir pot will break down within a couple of months. If you want to use the pot as a pot plant, the coir pot will last 12-18 months out of the ground. Nesting birds often use the fibres for their nests, which is a lovely thing to witness.

The coir pots are great on landscaping jobs too. It saves a lot of time as you don’t have to remove the plant from the pot or worry about the root structure of the plant; you just pop the pot straight into the ground and there’s no waste.

I love these coir pots and I’m so excited about growing the Sabrina Hahn range of plants in them. I’m very proud of these plants and I hope you enjoy them. We’ll be releasing new batches throughout the year.
